The Manchester Salford Pathfinder's investment programme funds a number of key activities:
- Strategic Investment – the acquisition and demolition of obsolete property to allow development of new housing.
- Developer Support – financial support is provided for developers to pump-prime and accelerate new build or remodelling activity in areas where there has been no significant private sector investment for many years and where new development will be high risk.
- Improvements and external refurbishment – the refurbishment of homes in key locations to encourage further investment and increase the attractiveness of these neighbourhoods to existing and potential residents and strengthen and enhance the housing market.
- Sustaining Neighbourhoods – improving neighbourhood management and the day-to-day living environment of residents through the funding of public realm and environmental improvements, alley-gating and street-scaping and initiatives to tackle antisocial behaviour and neighbour nuisance.
- Private Rented Sector – supporting effective management and landlord licensing to improve the management and regulation of the private rented sector in the Manchester Salford Pathfinder area.
